'wait to rush, rush to wait'

yes and that phrase is especially true for platoon 4. always do the most saikang, always wait the most for the other platoons to finish doing their stuff then our turn to do, and always rush the most thereafter because we're the last to finish. damn sian.

anyway, it didn't rain during orion,ninja and leopard field camp =)

so now me, xy, wing and occ damn happy. do stuff in mud. but the mud is dry mud =)

ok lah got abit of wet mud. i also dunno y will hav wet mud, but it somehow got. I proned straight into it beside a tree. no it's not that people pissed there before. the mud arnd that area just happened to be soft and squishy. but other than that, not much wet mud!

ok i talk somemore later kena OSA. so that's all!

Army Discipline

I'd like to blog about the 6 day field camp that we had last week, but then, I'm uncertain which parts are under the OSA. So ask me instead. Suffice to say, it was certainly memorable. And dirty. I booked out early (tues night) bcos of ippt gold. Started washing my laundry and other miscellaneous stuff. After soaking each set of clothes in a pail and rinsing them for up to 5 times, the water was still rather murky. Just an idea of a camp where one goes 6 days without bathing, and in the mud.

Meanwhile, I realised that army discipline works via a self-reinforcing mechanism. When commanders punish recruits, recruits are forced to obey despite their exhaustion and pain. They are pushed beyond their limits of endurance by the fear of further retribution from commanders, where they would otherwise have given up. Such testing of limits will doubtless be extremely hard upon the recruits, and such tough punishment will certainly impress the power of the commanders (to inflict much pain) upon the subconscious of the recruits, further reinforcing fear of commanders and of further punishment.

Such fear ensures obedience and submission.
Such fear ensures discipline, and motivates a recruit to further push his limits.
Such fear is groundless. Joking.
