ok writing this now despite the fact that there are two tests tmr, being physics and maths. dun wanna let this short journey slip from my memory. anyway, realised that since the emphasis on reflections during odac's end of year trip to australia, i kinda like reflecting on stuff alrdy. whee.

anyway, gathered at 6 at the odac room for a final briefing and settling of stuff. had a quick briefing till 7, then j1s arrived and we briefed them. first 2 grps of j1s left at 7.50, 20 mins behind schedule. but i was following the second 2 grps of j1s, who were supposed to leave 30 mins later, meaning 8.20. so we(the j2s in my grp, gerard, siying, kevin, charlene, yee sian) settled down and played some screwed up 'who what har' game with the j1s as icebreakers. kinda realised that i hadn't eaten my dinner(had played cards with gen instead of getting dinner b4 6, crap). cldn't do anything abt it, so nvm lor. so yup we set off at 8.20 and the j1s headed for their first checkpoint. basically night hike is meant for the j1s, meaning they do the navigation, they choose the route, and even if they are on the wrong track all the way to tuas, we're not supposed to tell them. we're there only for safety and entertainment purposes.

ok so they arrived at their first checkpoint in the middle of macritchie nature trail, continued on in the darkness of the trail(we were not using torchlights in the middle of the forest so as not to disturb the wildlife) till we came out of it to the island country club. continued past it to pierce reservoir, where we played our first checkpoint game. some really stupid game so i shan't bother to elaborate. found out that one of the odacians in my grp was my bro's gd fren. had been in ri's bball team and is the first team point guard. some shen. anyway, he qte fun lah. and this was when a grp came up behind us. omfg we're the last grp to leave sch how come got a grp behind us? apparently the grp that had left 30 mins ahead of us had sort of lost their way and so lagged behind. woot, so we owned them by more than 30 mins alrdy. so we continued along, ahead of them now, upper thomson road to thong soon green playground. where we played our second checkpoint game. some cool game of attempting to count to as high a number as possible without 2 ppl counting the same number at any time. then when the grp behind us caught up, we left the checkpoint and stayed ahead of them =)

continued along to seletar reservoir, our next checkpoint, where we slacked arnd the playground there. again until the grp caught up wif us then we leave haha. was running out of stuff to talk abt le, and it was alrdy 1.20, so continued the next hell of a long stretch of journey in silence. walked all the way till 3.50, when we finally managed to reach jalan kayu, near gen's place. played the spiderman, batman, superman game with the j1s, then all went to hav a rest and eat at the prata shop there. aiya the prata there not that shen lah, for all the hype. one of the girls in my grp, Hien(she's vietnamese, cool), got a ligament strain and cldn't walk as fast as before le. she had been damn enthu one lah. anyway, didn't really understand her pain until later. anyway, continued after that at 5, but everyone damn slpy le, so the walking speed dropped significantly. the grp behind us finally managed to catch up wif us, and we continued as one big grp towards our last checkpoint, the japanese cemetery. and it was on this hourney that i got the same ligament strain lah. same area lah. exactly the same thing excep that her's was on the right leg, mine on the left. anyway, just carried on with it lah. when we finally reached it, it was 6.30, too late to make it back to sch by 7 alrdy, so everyone made a decision to take a bus back to rj. crowded the whole 156 which came(shun cheng saw) and all made our way back to school. hell lot of ppl fell aslp totally on the bus.

Back in school, a few of us decided to be mad and proceeded to run 1.6k arnd the sch track, with the rest of the tired odacians staring at us like we were crazy idiots. haiyo, and chin ee was at the odac area looking for bandage for a sprained ankle of his fren. and the chinese dance jacket i brought along didn't get used cuz the night is not that cold after all.
