King Wing the Alchemist – Sometimes called the Alchemist King, Wing is the King of Phyraxia. He dabbles in the arts of alchemy, and is most vocal in advocating research and development, as well as advancements in technology, believing technology to eventually prevail over magic, and give an extra edge to their kingdom over other nations. He believes that unlike magic, which is available to only a select few, technology can be made widely available, and thus prevail by the power of the masses, and firmly stands by the laughable notion of equality. Yet, idealistic principles are always doomed to fail in reality, precisely because the nobles hate the thought of being equal to the lowly serfs, and the oppressed lower classes hate the thought of losing their moral high ground to the great flood of equality. His attitude greatly dissatisfies many people, who still hold on to the old ways, especially some nobles, and incited by agents of Wang, Wing is deposed, and a new government installed. Wing escapes, with a few loyal followers, into exile.
