Ramen Marutama

So today, under recommendation from gen, and an article from 8 days, we had dinner at this japanese retaurant called Ramen Marutama at The Central. We being gen yiting ellen and me. Apparently, Central is a new shopping mall opened recently outside clarke quay mrt. Haha e girls say it's quite big, but i wasnt there when they explored, so maybe u can check ulu blog assuming someone, anyone, ever blogs about it =p

So we ate.....well, ramen! haha they had a queue ooo, but e turnover rate was not bad, so dint have to wait tt long. ellen the japanese label-reading girl helped to translate some stuff, and say grace for dinner (: haha the food's really good! but it's ridiculously ex too. haha nvm once in a while can la. ahaha 1 bowl of ramen costs $12, but a noodle refill for your bowl costs $1. that means the soup n other liao costs $11? oO. but the soup's really yummy! gen finished her whole bowl of soup haha.

And this was our first side dish. It's called YAKI CHAR SIEW. 4 pieces of it for $6 =) i think it's sth like roast pork. Anyway, it's really really really gd! Even tho the fat is like supposedly unhealthy and all, it tastes sooo heavenly u can forget about that ahaha.

Tada! Main attraction of the dinner. Ramen! In yummy broth soup, a piece of chicken, a bundle of seaweed, and lots of spring onion. Btw, an additional topping of spring onion costs $1 ^^ hahas, the noodles are really nice and springy. Wheee havent had such nice noodles for quite a while. Pity i dint eat much ramen when i was in japan last yr.

Impulse purchase of yet another side dish! It's called KAKUNI. 4 pieces of err braised pork i think, for $7 yups. each piece can buy you 5 eggs from stall 2 in sch (: haha! ok this one not bad also, but i still prefer e first one cos it's much softer. But do turn your attention onto the whitish looking blob of thing on the right of e pic. that's like 80% fat. hahaha it practically oozes in your mouth when u bite into it. ooooozeee! yum.

And finally, the mysterious bottle of yellow sauce. "what's this?" says gen. Let's pour it onto a spoon and find out! *sniffsniff* ooo it smells sweet, says gen. Try tasting it! "ack it's sour!" exclaims yiting. the rest of us try a bit. "arghhh nooo it's freaking salty!! ggxx water pls.." when we asked a passing waiter, he said it's salt sauce. haha judging by the imba saltiness, i'd say it's molten sodium chloride. Anyway, quote of the day "yiting: salt is good!"

Then we went home. U peeps can go give it a shot too! There're lots of expensive jap restaurants around that part of Central, dont ask me why. But it seems to cater more towards like working pple, judging by the price range and the human traffic. The bill came up to a total of....
